No Truth In Claim Malaysian Cars Expensive Due To Proton

VOLKSWAGEN CELEBRATES GOLF GTI ANNIVERSARY WITH EDITION 35

To celebrate the 35th anniversary of the original hot hatch, Volkswagen has announced the first details of the latest special edition Golf GTI model � the Golf GTI Edition 35. With an increase in power of 25 PS over the �standard� car, the Edition 35 develops 235 PS and is the most powerful production Golf GTI to date.

Since the debut of the first Golf GTI in 1976, the iconic model has enjoyed an uninterrupted history of success which now spans 35 years. During this time, the GTI has become a car with cult appeal as well as an independent brand and milestone GTI anniversaries have been celebrated with exclusive special models, and Volkswagen continues this tradition with the Edition 35.

In addition to the increase in power, the Edition 35 combines classic GTI design elements with features specially created for this latest anniversary model.

A revised front bumper is joined by lightweight 18-inch alloy wheels while, in the cabin, the golf ball gearknob makes a return. To mark out this special edition further, the �35� signature appears on the front wings, sill plates, head restraints and on the centre panel of the seats.

This latest anniversary model will make its world debut at the legendary GTI event at W?rthersee in Austria at the beginning of June.

The Golf GTI Edition 35 will open for order in the UK later this year. Prices and full UK specification will be announced in due course.

Don't buy a used car right now Although we're normally big fans of buying your cars used, now is the absolute worst time to be buying one — especially if you want high fuel economy. Here's why. As seems to happen every summer when fuel prices tick skyward, many are once again searching for a fuel-efficient vehicle. Although the new vehicle marketplace may be filled with a slew of small car options, it's pretty clear American consumers still would prefer a large car, SUV or pickup truck. Preferably one filled to the brim with cupholders. But on the used vehicle market, consumers can not only find fuel-efficient older cars, but also usually buy big at a smaller price. And a surge of demand means prices for popular used vehicles are poppin'. Recent data from Kelley Blue Book indicates that so far this year, fuel-efficient segments have increased far more aggressively than they have during the past two years. Today, values of high fuel economy vehicles are up nearly 20% since January, a far cry from the steady depreciation of 2009 and 2010. At the segment level, values are up around $1,500-$2,500, with some models surpassing their respective segment average. Examples of this increase include the Toyota Prius hybrid, which has increased in value nearly $3,800 since January 1st, and the Ford Fusion mid-size, up a substantial $1,800. As fuel prices continue to rise, Kelley Blue Book tells us they expect values for many of these vehicles to continue to increase. Makes sense, right? But, although fuel-efficient segments have performed better than others due to the substantial rise in gas prices since the beginning of the year; it is safe to say all used vehicle values have seen spikes. Not only in dollars measured since the beginning of the year, but also in comparison to the past several years. Although more difficult to measure, the chart over yonder helps to illustrate the average change in value for a three-year-old vehicle in April 2007 versus today. It clearly shows how much values have risen since 2007. This strength in values can be attributed to a sustained lack of supply of used vehicles over the past several years, primarily stemming from reduced new-car sales through the same period, combined with the Cash for Clunkers program of two years ago providing a readily-accessible fleet of older vehicles to comb through. So, as sales have remained low due to the economic downturn, used-vehicle supplies have been hard-hit, driving prices up over the past several years. But, this does mean there's money to be had in the market — especially if you've got a fuel-efficient used vehicle to sell. Used Geo Metros — which have a highway fuel economy rating anywhere between 39 and 44 MPG — are regularly selling on eBay between $3,500 and $5,000. That's not too shabby considering they originally retailed for anywhere between $8,500 and $11,000. So maybe what folks should be doing to beat the summer gas price spike is to buy Geo Metros in the winter when they're cheap and then sell them to dealerships in the summer. Now that's the type of capitalistic car fervor we can get behind.

Uough! Ough! 

The Jungle has reached 700 Followers on the blog - wohow! Many thanks to all jungle tourists visiting us regularly. We didn't expect this going so fast and honestly we are caught a bit off duty - we are already preparing our Jungle Celebration Party for the 700 - a miniature to win again - more about it as soon as possibe :)

Meanwhile I just can tell you about my Work in Progress Projects - there are a lot. It is the joy of painting i do at the moment and articles that i prepare. You can fasten your kilts because of those articles. At the moment i am writing the big "Using Oil and Acrylic Colour together" article and i can say that this seems to become a book after much experience is made so far in the jungle.

Work in Progress some explanation words - i can say that the Tyranids vs. Ultras thing will not be icecold - i guess this was a good decision or the snow would have killed the overall impression and dramatic of the Marines in the focus of the scene. The Marine bust i was asked about several times is just Brother Artemis by Games Workshop's Inquisitor, a 54 Marine who i made a bust of. The Spanish Admiral bust is done on comission and will soon be finished - for sure his face will get a way warmer tone - i will do that later on with oil colours. Peter is with me painting these days and he is doing a nice and strange JMD Miniature. The Grinder bust by Roberto Chaudon will be fullfilled as a Dark Elf in my vision. Still doing experiments with Acrylics and Oil here - it feels the article never ends :) - Fisherman's friend will be soon finished too - it's the Guild of Harmony model, gently converted and a gift to some real nice people i know.

VW GOLF GTI HATCHBACK SPECIAL EDITION 35 YEARS

German carmaker, Volkswagen AG (VW), has launched Hatchback VW Golf GTI anniversary special edition car is the 35th. Special car that is claimed to have more power than the standard version. Volkswagen will present the Golf GTI Edition 35 to W?rthersee 2011, as a commemorative version of the 35 years since the birth of the compact sports car.
