Rossi 66 with Corvette C2 Looks and C6 Hardware Coming to 2008 SEMA

Rossi 66 with Corvette C2 Looks and C6 Hardware Coming to 2008 SEMA

The 2008 SEMA

Blue Fusion is the latest company to join in on the latest trend here in the States of re-bodying new Corvettes to look like the second generation model of the 1960s. Dubbed the Rossi 66, Blue Fusion’s Corvette will use the current C6/Z06/ZR1 platform and dress it with a body that mimics the lines of the 1966 C2 split window ‘Vette. Or at least that’s what Blue Fusion supports as the only year that the split window made its appearance on the C2 Corvette was in 1963 – talk about a big booboo..

Model-Year blunder aside, the first production version of the Rossi 66 will be displayed at the SEMA 2008 in Las Vegas this fall. The car will be built to order at he company’s facilities from a new C6, a C6/Z06/ZR1 or a customer supplied C6 donor chassis. Along with the coupe version, Blue Fusion says that it is also preparing a fully functioning convertible and various stages of Sport and Competition versions that will include a GT2 class type for full on-track racing applications.

2009 Toyota Hi-Lux Receives Subtle Facelift

Toyota’s official Malayisian website has gone ahead and revealed the first image of the mildly facelifted 2009 Hi-Lux pick-up truck. Unless you own a Hi-Lux, you will probably have a hard time spotting the differences between the 2008 and 2009 model. Minor changes on the outside include a heavier profiled front bumper, a new grille, restyled wing mirrors with integrated indicators and new alloy wheels. Toyota Europe has yet to make an announcement but expect the revised Hi-Lux to hit European showroom floors towards the end of 2008 or early 2009.

Heffner Lamborghini Gallardo with 930HP at the Wheels!

Heffner Lamborghini Gallardo with 930HP at the Wheels!

Heffner, as in Heffner Performance has introduced a special tuning package for the Lamborghini Gallardo that could stir the same havoc as a pin-up model on Hugh Hefner’s Playboy magazine centerfold. The Florida-based firm has enhanced the Gallardo’s 5.0-liter V10 engine with the addition of twin-turbos, polished crankshaft journals, a new custom exhaust system and a series of other mods that help boost power to an outrageous 930 HP –at the wheels… It is not clear if Heffner Performance offers buyers the option to disable the Gallardo’s AWD system sending all that massive power to the rear wheels as it has done in the past with other modified Lamborghinis, though that’s something we’d like to see in action –from a safe distance of course. 2009 VW Golf VI to be Auctioned for Charity in London on October 15

2009 VW Golf VI to be Auctioned for Charity in London on October 15

Don’t mind the blue veil covering the new Golf; the organisers of the London Press Club Ball had no idea that pictures of the car would be unleashed online. Surpassing the leak, the London Press Club Ball on October 15 will mark the first public appearance in the UK of the sixth generation Golf as VW’s new hatch will be the star charity auction prize at the glitzy mingling of 450 of Britain's most influential journalists and PRs. All proceeds from the auction will go to the “Journalists' Charity”, which is a UK charity organization for all journalists in need.

Ball committee chairman Philippa Kennedy said: 'It was a real coup to secure the next generation Volkswagen Golf as a prize. In the past we have had generous support from Audi, Peugeot and Honda providing cars as auction prizes. But this is the first time we will have unveiled a prize car before it has even been officially launched in Britain."

“The timing seemed perfect and, happily, Volkswagen agreed. So it's a great scoop for us and of course for whoever successfully bids for it. And those at the Ball will be among the first in the UK to see it up close.”
