Chevy Reveals 2010 Camaro Transformers Special Edition Model

Chevy Reveals 2010 Camaro Transformers Special Edition Model

The San Diego Comic-Con, a comic book and popular arts convention, saw the release of the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro TRANSFORMERS Special Edition model. But despite the buzz, the real-life Bumblebee is a huge letdown as the Transformers edition is virtually nothing more than a simple logo package. Forget about the Z28 bumper and hood treatment or the unique alloy wheels used on Bumblebee in the Transformers movie.

What supposedly makes this Camaro special are the Transformer and Autobot logos on the side panels, the wheel center caps, the sill plates, the center console and on the black rally stripes.

Not surprisingly, the New GM claims that the Transformers edition is as special as the movie car. "When the first TRANSFORMERS movie was setting box office records, we had countless customers asking to purchase the 'BUMBLEBEE' Camaro," said Karen Rafferty, product marketing director, Chevrolet. "Now, they can buy one with the new Camaro TRANSFORMERS Special Edition. Streets all over North America will be buzzing in no time."

If you're still interested, the Transformers kits is priced at $995 and it's offered on the LT V6 and the SS V8 Camaros in Rally Yellow with or without the RS package.

Geiger Cars Brings 2010 Chevy Camaro to Europe - €39,900 for a V6, €50,600 for a V8 SS

Geiger Cars Brings 2010 Chevy Camaro to Europe - €39,900 for a V6, €50,600 for a V8 SS

GM's decision not to sell the new 2010 Chevy Camaro in Europe (at least not in the near future) has opened the 'import' doors to companies like Geiger Cars. The German firm, which is also known for its tuning division, has announced the availability of Detroit's latest pony car to European customers. Though Geiger hasn't disclosed a standard list price, we found three brand new Camaros with zero miles (okay, kilometers) up for sale on its official site.

2010 Chevrolet Camaro Europe - CarscoopFirst up is a yellow-mellow Camaro 2LT with the 304HP 3.6-liter V6 engine matted to an automatic transmission. It is priced at €39,900 (apparently for the German market) or about $56,600 at the current exchange rates. In the U.S., prices for the Camaro 2LT start from $27,375 (MSRP) which comes to around €19,310.

The other two Camaros up for grabs are a red SS with an automatic transmission and a black SS with a manual gearbox. Both of course are equipped with a 6.2-liter V8 engine that delivers 426HP when paired to a manual transmission and 400HP when linked to the 6-speed automatic. Geiger has priced both cars at €50,615 or at about $71,800. If you live in the U.S., a manual Camaro 1SS will cost you a quite more reasonable $31,040 (€21,900) while the slightly better equipped 2SS, $34,225 (€24,150).

2010 Chevy Camaro by Fesler-Moss gets Corvette ZR1's Supercharged V8

2010 Chevy Camaro by Fesler-Moss gets Corvette ZR1's Supercharged V8

GM's decision to not offer -at least for the time being- the new Chevy Camaro with the Corvette ZR1's 640 horsepower supercharged V8 engine has left the door wide open for tuners to satisfy the specific needs of power-hungry Camaro buyers. This latest proposal is the collaborative work of Chris Fesler and former GM Performance manager Jon Moss. The 'dynamic-duo' is preparing a limited edition run of specially modified Camaros that can be equipped with any LS-series V8 engine that's currently available including the 'Vette ZR1's LS9.

Other mods include a custom made bodykit with a new front fascia, a boot lid spoiler and 1969 Camaro RS inspired headlamps and tail lights, new alloy wheel designs, suspension and brake upgrades, special decals plus interior enhancements.
