2012 Jaguar XF

CARBARN  | 2012 Jaguar XF | Carbon fiber also replaces wood on the go-fast model. One significant upgrade, however, is a novel start-stop feature that's worth noting, as it Could be adapted for use on gasoline engines.  If an engine stop has been ordered and the engine is still turning faster than about 350 rpm, the fuel rail (which Remains pressurized) simply resumes injection and within two compression cycles the engine starts running again.

Below 350 rpm, the starter is required, but rather than wait for it to stop, then engage the starter pinion and commence cranking, the XF diesel can smoothly engage the starter before the engine stops turning. By motoring the pinion up to match engine speed, there's no crunch the pinion hits the flywheel, and no time lost in restarting. Order a restart, and its spring releases enough hydraulic pressure to engage the shift key elements needed for instantaneous launch.

My only experience in the 2012 drive was with this XF diesel, and the start-stop technology works splendidly, restarting as Quickly as a high-voltage hybrid (like the Buick LaCrosse eAssist) on Those touch-and-go stops. Even the full stops seem slightly quicker to go, Because the pinion is already engaged Pls lifting off the brake. A second battery ensures there's Ample power to run all the ancillaries with the engine off (the A / C compressor-driven engine is still, however). Auto-stop can be switched off and is blocked Whenever you're using the paddle shifters. Another cool feature: If the auto-stops XF  you get to your parking place or garage, just unbuckle your belt and the transmission shifts to park, then the ignition shuts down completely.

The eight-speed's shift quality is impeccable, delivering aspects swift, decisive downshifts 8-2 Pls Called to action, then wafting seamlessly from ratio to ratio like a CVT while sashaying around town. It's a slam-dunk That Should boost Jag XF's market share in Europe, where 49 percent of 5-series/upper CD segment is a four-cylinder Diesels.

2012 Jaguar XJ

CARBARN | 2012 Jaguar XJ | The mold-breaking styling is matched by similarly impressive construction techniques pioneered by Jaguar. In conjunction with a lifecycle approach to design and manufacture, this allows the Jaguar XJ to minimize its carbon footprint. The cabin of the Jaguar XJ blends elegant, contemporary design with the comfort, luxury and unmistakable sporting style of a Jaguar.

Both standard and long-wheelbase models are available, for an even more sumptuous and refined experience for rear seat passengers. Advanced new technology has allowed Jaguar's interior designers to create an environment more akin to a state-of-the-art living space than a car cabin. Advanced infotainment features also include hard-drive based audio and navigation systems and comprehensive connectivity for portable audio and video devices via the powerful Media Hub.

On the long-wheelbase derivatives portfolio a new 'Executive Pack' transforms the rear of the Jaguar XJ into a high-speed mobile office space with the provision of fold-down laptop Trays and an electric rear sunblind for Increased privacy. The package also includes upgraded carpeting, combination wood and leather steering wheel, gloss wood veneer and chrome mirror housings choices.

Available with the Premium Luxury and Portfolio trim levels, the Jet / Ivory features ivory seating option with a jet of contrast stitching, piping and upper surfaces while the headlining is available in either color, According to customer preference. All Jaguar XJ variants are now available with an Illumination Package derived from That Offered as standard on the Supersport model. This comprises the illuminated treadplates, boot latch and front and rear vents water. "An XJ Should Be the ultimate in comfort, design and refinement. Ian Callum, Design Director, Jaguar Cars

Jaguar has given its mid-size XF saloon a face-lift and a brand new engine to bring it up to speed with the competition as well as the rest of the Jag range. Introduced in 2008, the XF was the first serious step by Jaguar toward shedding its traditionalist image and becoming truly competitive in its segment.History has shown that, given these two cars’ respective target demographics, the smaller, cheaper, sportier XF should really be more contemporary looking than the loping (but ultimately quite sporty) limousine that is the XJ. The front end now benefits from the sleeker

headlamps and upright grille that made their conceptual debut on the C-XF in 2007, but disappointingly only made production on 2010’s XJ. This is allegedly because then-owners Ford had rather lopsidedly already completed the production XF’s design before creating the striking CX-F concept to wow customers. This too is an expression of the brand’s independence as, under Ford ownership, horizontal vents were the strict reserve of Jaguar’s posher stable-mate, Aston Martin. The XF’s range was thus far limited to just three engines – a petrol V6, a diesel V6 (in two states of tune) and the petrol V8, either naturally aspirated or supercharged. With eco-consciousness becoming a major concern in the executive and luxury segments, Jaguar has answered the call with the XF’s first four-cylinder engine.
All models get an engine stop-start feature and have their six-speed automatic replaced with a far more advanced eight-speed unit as standard.

Sleek, sporting and sophisticated, the all-new Jaguar XJ brings a daring new spirit to automotive luxury. It offers a seductive mix of striking design, breathtaking performance and engineering without compromise.

The new Jaguar XJ is the epitome of fluid, contemporary automotive style. The elongated teardrop shape of the side windows establishes the car's silhouette and lies at the heart of its flowing design. And the new Jaguar XJ doesn't just look streamlined: it shares a drag coefficient of 0.29 with the Jaguar XF saloon, making them the most aerodynamic Jaguars ever.
Even if Jaguar has just unveiled a facelift for the old XJ, this is not the only news coming to us. In 2009 the company will unveil a totally redesigned model, with design cues taken from the latest C-XF Concept and from the upcoming XF sedan. Even if the new generation XJ will be built on the current aluminum platform, everything on the exterior will be changed.

More recently the 2010 Jaguar XJ was unveiled by late night funny man Jay Leno and the beautiful super model Claudia Schiffer. The all-new XJ is the first Jaguar model to be built using Jaguar’s aerospace-inspired aluminum body technology. The vehicle will be available with a choice of new ultra-efficient Gen III classification petrol and diesel engines consisting of a 3.0 Liter diesel V6, a 5.0 Liter naturally aspirated V8 as well as the almighty 5.0 Liter supercharged 8 cylinder power plant.
