Mercedes 300 SL Gullwing (1954 - 1957)- Born out of Mercedes' successful Le Mans racers of the early 50's.
- First shown at the 1954 New York Motor Show.
- Mercedes introduced the distinctive 'Gullwing Doors'.
- The fuel injected 3 litre flat 6 pushed out at least 240bhp, claimed top speed of 165mph.
- 1400 examples were built from 1954-1957.
