A fully restored 1960 Morris Mini with 56,600 miles on the clock will be raffled at the British Classic Motor Show to be held at Birmingham's NEC from 13th to 15th November 2009. The red Morris Minor was restored to its former glory live on stage at last year's classic motorshow by Edd China from TV's Wheeler Dealers programme. The car will be given away in a text-to-win competition where participants are asked to answer a rather lame question of the sort "Which anniversary is the classic Mini celebrating in 2009". For the record, the answer is 'Mini Golden'...

No, the Golf County pictured above isn't one of those garage-built crossovers that we find from time to time on eBay. This is a rare, stock to the bone model that was built in a limited run of around 7,700 units from 1990 to 1991. See, well before the Tiguan and Touareg SUVs came to fill the void in Volkswagen's "off-road" range, the German automaker tried to create an innovative hybrid-offroader based on the second-generation Golf model.

Unlike many of today's faux-crossovers, the Golf Country used VW's Syncro all-wheel drive system combined with a heavily revised suspension and higher road-clearance to offer the vehicle true off road capability.

Other features included a skid plate to protect the engine area along with front and rear guard rails plus an externally mounted spare wheel carrier.

In Europe, the Golf MK2 Country was offered with either a 115HP 1.8-liter 8v gasoline engine or a 75HP 1.6-liter turbodiesel. This particular example found on eBay, is a '91 petrol model that is said to have been exported to Japan before finding its way to Canada in 2008. The wraps are off Morgan's limited-run flagship model, the Aero Supersports that's destined to make its world debut at this weekend's Concorso d'Eleganza at Villa d'Este in Northern Italy. Designed and engineered in house, the Morgan Aero SuperSports is a lightweight aluminum sports car with two removable roof panels that infuses 'old-school' British styling with modern touches and technology. Like the 2008 Aeromax Coupe, upon which it is based, the Aero Supersports is powered by a 367HP 4.8 litre BMW V8 engine that comes with a choice of 6 speed automatic or manual gearboxes.

Charles Morgan, Grandson of the company's founder said "The Morgan Aero SuperSports is a luxurious flamboyant sports car which also remains true to Morgan's philosophy of lightweight minimalist simplicity. It is a celebration of our love of cars and the romance of travel and is a fitting model to announce during Morgan's Centenary year."

The new Aero Super Sports is set to enter a limited run production of about 200 units in early 2010 with an anticipated price of around £127,000 including VAT, which comes to about US$185,000 or €142,000 with the current exchange rates. Those interested to get in line for one will have to place a deposit of £25,000 or US$36,500 - €28,000.
